about

"I had a zoom call with some guy in the industry. He said I need to be prepared to use my body, get to the gym, and get naked more often if I wanna make it. Instead, I wrote a song about that culture. Not buying into the shit you see on Instagram. I'm queer and the targeted stream of perfect abs on my feed was a constant drain. I think it's pretty toxic."

Fixation on the bodies of others has to stop. Fat, thin, hairy, or scarred, our bodies are beautiful _because_ of their differences. They are ours and no-one else's.

We should never be ashamed of who we are, how we look, or what we choose to wear. No-one has the right to profit from our insecurities.

lyrics

Sex sells
And don't they all look pretty

Sex sells
And don't they all look pretty
Covering the cracks up
With the big lights of the city
Sex sells
You do it for the fame
We all know the body
And don't know the name

Keeping me up
Got me checking my phone
If you hate it then there's
Nowhere else for you to go

Switching it up
But keeping the tone
Oh, I'm sure it's something
That I really need to know

So take off all your clothes
Never be ashamed, never turn around
Cause naked means the most
If you take the time to dig a little deeper down

Sex sells
And don't they all look pretty
Covering the cracks up
With the big lights of the city
Sex sells
You do it for the fame
We all know the body
And don't know the name

Sex sells
You know you're looking good
No-one gets to perfect
But I think that you could
Sex sells
You do it for the fame
We all know the body
And don't know the name

I wanna move on
I wanna be free
But once it's in your head
It's something that you can't unsee

Constant comparison
Is making me arrogant
But underneath it all
It's tearing down my self-belief

So take off all your clothes
Never be ashamed, never turn around
Cause naked means the most
If you take the time to dig a little deeper down

So take off all your clothes
Never be ashamed, never turn around
Cause naked means the most
If you take the time to dig a little deeper down

Sex sells
And don't they all look pretty
Covering the cracks up
With the big lights of the city
Sex sells
You do it for the fame
We all know the body
And don't know the name

Sex sells
You know you're looking good
No-one gets to perfect
But I think that you could
Sex sells
You do it for the fame
We all know the body
And don't know the name

The body
We all know the body
Woah
Sex sells
You do it for the fame
We all know the body
And don't know the name

Sex sells
And don't they all look pretty

Sex sells
And don't they all look pretty
